Good things, a lot of them

Standard

To start off this post, I want to wish my mom a happy Birthday!
And to celebrate this special year, we had family and friends visit for the past few days.

First of all, we went to a wok restaurant in Kerkrade Roda JC Boulevard, Parkstad Plaza
Although I go to Roda JC Boulevard quite often (like going to the movies), it’s also my first time visiting the wok restaurant there since they moved to a bigger location.

Although ‘wok’ stands for stir-fried Chinese food, the place is actually an all you can eat buffet that serves all kinds of dishes like grill, sushi, pizza, fries, steaks and teppanyaki next to the various choices of drinks and desserts.

On the day of her Birthday, we invited some family and friends to have dinner at our place.
So we prepared a nice meal with steaks, fries, croquettes and much more.
For this day me and my brother also cooked some pumpkin cream-soup with seafood.
I also attempted to bake her a birthday cake. I was my first time and didn’t look too good, but well, it’s the idea which counts, right?

Although it didn’t look good, the cake tastes quite good if I had to say so myself.

Next to my mom’s birthday, I went to visit some people I know.
I am happy to see that everyone I know is doing well.

But the most special day would be an invitation for dinner from an old friend.
I haven’t seen him for years…
When we were teens, we use to hang out a lot. Even if we were at home, we would speak to each other on forums or good ol’ MSN.
Man, it’s been so long…. Kevin I really miss you!
I am just so glad to see some old friends again 🙂
